Chef buys Rendezvous restaurant in Tewkesbury

The Rendezvous restaurant in the historic Gloucestershire town of Tewkesbury has been sold off a guide price of £575,000 for the freehold.

New owner Lesley O'Brien has worked as a chef in the past, both at her small hotel in Ireland, and for an unnamed royal household.

The restaurant occupies a Georgian building that overlooks the town's 10th century abbey and has garden access to the River Avon.

It can seat 48 customers in the differently-styled ground floor dining areas which include a front restaurant, two bars, a rear dining room and a private dining room.

The property includes a two-storey, four-bedroom owners' flat with a drawing room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry handled the sale for the previous owners, Michael and Debbie James.
