CDG reopens Belgo's 420-cover flagship site after six figure refurbishment

Casual Dining Group's flagship Belgo site has reopened following a £100,000 refurbishment of the 450-cover Covent Garden restaurant.

The redesign of the Belgian beer and mussel themed concept's largest site has seen a new bar and open plan kitchen installed alongside a refreshed aesthetic including beer hall tables and church chairs.

The Belgo Centraal reopening will be accompanied by the launch of the "beer adventure" experience, which currently operates across the group's portfolio, and sees a master of beer guiding six to eight people through pairings and varieties.

Customers will also be invited to make their own beer-based cocktails.

Belgo's Ooeration director, Chris Anderton, said: "We always aim to stay on the front foot of consumer trends and it's no surprise there is an ever-growing consumer demand for craft beers across the UK.

"With this in mind, we really scrutinised our existing offer and not only wanted to introduce an even bigger range, but an educational experience too, which is fun, engaging and also plays homage to its Belgian roots.

"Belgo has a unique positioning and has been offering craft beer in traditional style even before the UK boom, so we're confident this new element will be a success with customers."
