‘Build your own' menu brand Wahu to open in Manchester

A new restaurant with a "design your own" menu is set to open in Manchester's Spinningfields on the site of what was Eat on the Avenue.

Wahu, run by Jamie Barr, is set to open later this month offering healthy food largely using UK-sourced ingredients.

The 98-seat restaurant, 1,300 sq ft site has seen a £300,000 investment and will open from 7am to 11pm, catering for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Barr, whose parents grew Hazelwood Foods from a small manufacturer to one of the biggest convenience food businesses in Europe, has a degree in business management and marketing from Manchester University, and set up an events management company on graduating.
