Blanc to open restaurant in Madeira

Raymond Blanc is spreading his talents to Madeira, where he is to open a new restaurant at the prestigious Reid's Palace hotel.
The new operation will take over what is currently Les Faunes restaurant, but will not open until late next year. It will be part of a wider refurbishment, including a new spa and banqueting room.
"Reid's should be one of the best 10 hotels in the world, but it needs rethinking and relaunching," said Blanc.
"The restaurant will be part of that."
A spokeswoman for Orient-Express said the plans were not now as imminent as hoped, but the company still wanted to take the initiative forward.
