Barullo EC3 appears to close after chef Victor Garvey steps away

Barullo EC3 appears to have closed, two months after launching and one month after chef Victor Garvey stepped away from the site.

The 64-cover site in the City of London launched in the former home of James Cochran's eponymous EC3 restaurant. The restaurant is now listed as permanently closed on Google, while customers on Open Table have complained of reservations not being honoured.

Garvey confirmed to The Caterer he had stepped away from the restaurant in April and was "sorry to see it's closed". The chef now operates at one site - Rambla; he closed his Covent Garden wine bar Sibarita at the end of 2018 to focus on the new launch, and delayed forthcoming restaurant in Soho, Bar Jaleo, which is slated to open this year.

The Caterer has reached out the representatives of Barullo for comment.
