Aveqia restaurant and cookery school to launch in Farringdon

Swedish restaurant and cookery school concept Aveqia has announced plans to open its first UK site in London next month, giving guests the chance to cook alongside Michelin-starred chefs.

Aveqia Farringdon, comprising a bar, lounge and five kitchens, each with their own dining room, will open 17 September and accommodate up to 80 guests per cooking session.

Priced at £155 per person for eight to 12 people, an evening at the venue includes sparkling wine, use of the kitchen and dining room, and a four-course meal prepared under he guidance of a chef. There will be a focus on Swedish cuisine and seasonal ingredients.

This is the first Aveqia site to open outside Sweden, where the group currently operates two existing venues and has an annual turnover of about £2m.

Originally founded in 2009, the concept is the brainchild of entrepreneur Johan Kadar and chef David Berggren.
