Red Oak Taverns secures £15m growth funding

Multi-site pub operator Red Oak Taverns has received a £15m acquisition facility from OakNorth Bank to fund its expansion.

A portion of the capital has already been used to acquire 11 pubs across the South East of England, including a portfolio of nine pubs from Dorset family brewer Hall & Woodhouse in September.

It has been the third round of acquisitions for Red Oak this year, following the purchase of three West Midlands pubs from Reclamation Inns in January and 10 tenanted pubs in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire from Wells & Co in February.

Red Oak was founded by Aaron Brown and Mark Grunnell in 2011 and now has 201 sites across the UK.

Grunnell said the team's commitment to growing the business was "undiminished by the pandemic".
