Radisson Blu 'preferred hotel brand' for Sheffield's Heart of the City II development

Radisson Blu has been chosen by Sheffield City Council as the "preferred hotel brand" for its flagship Heart of the City II hotel overlooking the city's Peace Gardens.

The upmarket international hotel brand, which is operated by Radisson Hotel Group, would anchor Sheffield's new Heart of the City II scheme, which is already home to HSBC and will welcome international law firm CMS later in the year.

Sheffield City Council has announced that the 150-bedroom hotel, as part of Block A, will be housed in "striking Victorian architecture" towards the top end of Pinstone Street, with views across the Peace Gardens.

Developed by Sheffield City Council and its strategic delivery partner, Queensberry, Block A is set to provide a "key gateway" to Heart of the City II district from the east, featuring premium retail units at street level and 45,000 sq. ft of office or residential space.

Heart of the City II is one of Sheffield's "key economic projects" comprising of a mixed-use, high-quality development of retail, offices, residential, hospitality and leisure outlets at the heart of the city.

In November 2018 the Radisson Hotel Group revealed "big ambitions" for the UK.
