Steve Wilkins, winner of the 2003 Catey Pub and Bar Award, said the new operation was due to open in late February or early March .

Wilkins said the bar would closely resemble Lewis & Clarke's other businesses, which include the Last in Shoe Lane, the Prophet in Worship Street and the Nudge in New Oxford Street.

The new bar will occupy almost half the Gherkin's ground floor with about 2,800sq ft of trading space.
