Going topless in Torquay

The entrepreneur who introduced topless barmaids to Torquay has bought a second bar in the resort where young ladies will also bare their bosoms for one night of the week.

But the venue will also continue its focus on sport with three big screens and 10 monitors showing sporting events.

Paul Thornton, who owns the town's BED bar has acquired Number One Bar through licensed property agent Bettesworths.

Paul, who has already won permission to open until 3am under the new licensing laws, plans to bring the concept of BED to the Number One Bar.

He explained: "We feature topless barmaids at BED on Saturday Nights and we have a topless evening on Friday nights at Number One which will be featured in our upstairs bar, away from general pub customers."

Number One is held on a free-of-tie lease, which was sold off an asking price of £195,000.
