A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors.

The Carlton Tower Jumeirah

The Carlton Tower Jumeirah hotel in London's Knightsbridge has reopened after an 18-month closure, having undergone the biggest refurbishment in its 60-year history at a cost of more than £100m.

The number of bedrooms has been reduced from 216 to 186, with almost half turned into larger suites. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms, while 87 rooms have balconies with views across London. A newly created Royal Suite features three bedrooms with the option to privatise the entire floor.

Other renovations include a double-height reception, Lobby bar and lounge, ballroom and meeting rooms, while the Chinoiserie has been redesigned with a ‘Cake-o'clock' concept serving pâtisserie all day.

A new Italian restaurant, Al Mare (pictured above), is overseen by Marco Calenzo, the former executive chef at Zuma, who has worked at Four Seasons Hotels and the Lanesborough in London.
