Kai Winkler appointed general manager of Fairmont St Andrews

Kai Winkler has been appointed general manager of Fairmont St Andrews.

Winkler will be responsible for overseeing all operational functions at the five-AA-star hotel and golf course.

He joined Fairmont in 2016 as general manager of Fairmont Quasar, Istanbul, before taking leadership roles at The Palm, Dubai and the Fairmont Golden Prague where he oversaw the start of a €100 million renovation project which will culminate in the hotel's opening in 2024.

Winkler said: "I am thrilled and honored to be joining this internationally iconic country estate as we embark on a new chapter or this much-loved Scottish resort hotel.

"I am looking forward to leading a diverse team to continue Fairmont St Andrews' reign as one of the finest country retreats and further enhance the guest experience by creating unforgettable moments through unparalleled luxury and service."
