Hotel sector stalwarts to shine a light on career opportunities in webinar for students

Hotel sector stalwarts including 2020 Hotelier of the Year Sally Beck will be shining a light on career opportunities in the sector as part of a webinar aimed at students next month.

Organised by the Institute of Hospitality, the line-up includes Royal Lancaster London general manager Beck; general manager of Manchester's Lowry hotel Adrian Ellis; Stuart Bowery, general manager of London's Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott property; Matthew Brierley, director of UK openings for Locke aparthotels; and Scott Harper, chief operating officer of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.

The event will take place 2-3.30pm on 21 April and will discuss and review the merits and rewards of the industry and career opportunities available this year in a Q&A format, moderated by Peter Ducker, chief executive of the Institute of Hospitality. Students can submit questions in advance when registering to attend the event.

Alison Lees, area director of HR in the UK and Ireland for Marriott International, will provide an overview on employment opportunities that Marriott may have in the months ahead at the free-to-attend event.

The event supports Passion4Hospitality (P4H), which brings together the Institute of Hospitality's work to inspire careers in hospitality, and is part of its ‘Keep the Faith' event series.
