Two four-AA-star Midlands hotels on sale for £23m
The Abbey hotel in Worcestershire and the Lea Marston hotel in Warwickshire have been put on the market for offers in excess of £23m for the freehold of both properties.
The purpose-built hotels, both members of the Classic British Hotels marketing consortium, have been owned by the Blake family operating as RSM Leisure for more than 25 years. The family are now looking to retire and have appointed JLL to sell the hotels.
The 117-bedroom, four-AA-star Lea Marston hotel in Sutton Coldfield is set in 54 acres of North Warwickshire countryside close to Birmingham city centre and Drayton Manor Theme Park. It has a nine-hole golf course and a two-AA-rosette restaurant.
The 99-bedroom, four-AA-star Abbey hotel in Redditch offers a championship standard 18-hole golf course and is around 10 miles from Cadbury World.
Gavin Wright, director, JLL's hotels and hospitality team, said: "The hotels are established conference, wedding and banqueting venues and offer extensive leisure facilities, spas and health clubs with circa 5,000 external members across both sites.
"Having been in family ownership for over 25 years this is a genuine retirement sale and presents potential buyers with the opportunity to be acquired unencumbered, providing complete operational and branding flexibility. In light of the unique opportunity on offer we anticipate strong interest from both domestic and overseas investors."
