TripAdvisor extends Certificate of Excellence accolade

TripAdvisor is extending its Certificate of Excellence programme to restaurants and visitor attractions.

Introduced last year, the accolade was initially presented to hotels with the highest ratings, based on travellers' reviews.

Recipients of the award will receive a digital recognition badge to display on their business's website and, by request, a hardcopy certificate to display on site.

To qualify for the award, businesses must maintain an average traveller rating of four or higher (out of a possible five). Additional criteria include volume of reviews and how recently they have been submitted by TripAdvisor travellers.

"The accolade gives exceptional businesses in a variety of different industries around the world the recognition they deserve," said Christine Petersen, president of TripAdvisor for Business.

"From top-rated restaurants in Boston to top-rated attractions in Barcelona, we want to applaud these businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience."
