The Lanesborough's Geoffrey Gelardi wins top award for luxury travel
The Lanesborough's managing director Geoffrey Gelardi has been named Top General Manager of a Luxury Hotel at the Luxury Travel Advisor Awards of Excellence 2010.
Held in conjunction with the Luxury Travel Expo in Las Vegas, the worldwide awards recognise the best operators in luxury travel.
Gelardi, who has been managing director of the London hotel at Hyde Park Corner since it opened in 1991, was previously named Hotel Innovator of the Year during the inaugural year of the Luxury Travel Advisor Awards of Excellence in 2007.
He said he is blessed to work with a team of professionals that are instilled with a sense of pride and commitment. "I feel proud to accept this award on their behalf, as I know that they work tirelessly to ensure that the Lanesborough continues to exceed guest expectations and raise the bar in service delivery."
Other UK winners in the annual awards included John Andrews of The Goring, London, who was named Top Concierge Worldwide, while the Canadian-based Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, which has two British properties, was awarded the title of Best Authentic Luxury Hotel Group.
