Stein Hotels expands to North America
Stein Hotels and Resorts plans to expand its operations into North America. Chairman David Stein said that the company plans to operate its first properties in the USA in 2007, with ambitions to also open hotels in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean in the very near future. He said: "We began the company in Europe in 2002 with a single property, and grand plans to have 25 hotels within the decade. Five years later we have 17 properties in the portfolio, with seven more on the way, so the target of 25 hotels is already well ahead of our original schedule and pretty much a done deal. Therefore I figured the time was right to look for our next challenge, and the USA is the biggest challenge there is."
