Starwood Hotels and Resorts announces three major UK appointments
Tristan Nesbitt has been promoted to general manager of the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh, one of three major new appointments to be made by Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
Nesbitt began his career at Starwood Hotels and Resorts more than 13 years ago as a graduate trainee at the Sheraton Park Tower. During the interim, he has been assistant director of sales for the central London hotels and complex director of sales and marketing at the Westin Palace Madrid.
In his new role in Edinburgh, he will continue to build on the re-launch of the 269-bedroom Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa following its multimillion-pound refurbishment last year. His responsibilities will include One Square, the hotel's new restaurant and bar concept, and the 14 function rooms which together go to make up the largest hotel conference and banqueting space in the city.
Moving in the opposite direction, Finlay arrives at the 280-bedroom Sheraton Park Tower from the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh, where she worked for 22 years - most recently as the director of sales and marketing.
She will oversee the re-launch of the hotel next month as the Park Tower Knightsbridge, following a complete refurbishment to its public areas. Her responsibilities will include the hotel's One-O-One fish restaurant, alongside the hotel's bar, lounge and meeting facilities.
Leandro joins the 280-bedroom Le Méridien Piccadilly from the Sheraton Algarve in Portugal. He joined the resort as a sales and marketing intern in 1999, working his way up to the role of complex director of operations. In his new role he will be responsible for the general operations of the hotel, the bar Longitude 0°8', the Terrace Grill & Bar and the conference and event suites.
Leandro replaces Oscar Del Campo who has moved to Majorca as complex general manager, responsible for the St Regis Mardavall, Hotel Castillo Son Vida and the soon-to-be-relaunched Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf hotel.
Nesbitt, Finlay and Landro will all report to Colin Bennett, area manager for Starwood hotels in the UK and Ireland.
