Sopwell House joins Pride of Britain Hotels

Sopwell House in St Albans, Hertfordshire, has joined the Pride of Britain Hotels consortium of luxury, independently-owned UK hotels.

The 128-bedroom, four-AA-star Georgian house, formerly the country residence of Lord Mountbatten, has been in the Bejerano family for 30 years. It belongs to AB Hotels and is a sister property to the Arch London hotel.

The property has 16 gated mews suites set in a landscaped garden, a two-AA-rosette restaurant and a more informal brasserie. It appointed Thomas Garlich as general manager earlier this year.

Pride of Britain is a sales and marketing consortium of 49 hotels with a maximum capacity of 50 members.
