Somerset wedding hotel changes hands
Hornsbury Mill, a lakeside hotel that specialises in weddings in Chard, Somerset, has changed hands.
The country hotel is based in a 19th century mill and the old mill wheel remains a focal part of the 40-seat Wheel Room restaurant, where it can be viewed turning behind a glass panel.
Hornsbury Mill can sleep 20 guest across its 10 en-suite bedrooms that include two four-poster rooms and a bridal suite.
Facilities include the smaller Coach Room that is used for private dining and is adjacent to the main restaurant, the 90-seat Lakeside Suite function room with a bar and French windows leading to a marquee extension, and the first-floor Corn Loft for smaller weddings and parties.
There is also a small one-bedroom owners' flat and a detached cottage with an en-suite bedroom, lounge, bathroom, kitchen and private garden.
The hotel occupies 4.5 acres of grounds with a stream, a fountain, and a lake with an island in the centre and a gazebo at one end.
The new owners, Victoria Nagle and Lyndsey Waller, most recently worked for a luxury holiday firm.
The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off an asking price of £1.7m.
