Smokers must retain choice

Re smoke-free hotels (CatererSearch and Caterer this week, page 11](http://www.caterersearch.com/Articles/2006/10/19/309577/Most+guests+want+smokefree+hotels.htm)) - the percentage approving this option is roughly in line with the percentage of non-smokers in most European countries.

It does not mean, however, that the 30% of smokers and - as in my case - tolerant non-smoking partners of smokers shouldn't have the choice of hotel accommodation where smoking is permitted.

The service and leisure industry must continue to serve the needs and preferences of all its customers.
