Simon Sherwood quits role as CEO of Orient Express Hotels
Simon Sherwood president and chief executive officer at Orient Express Hotels has resigned from his role.
Sherwood will step down from the company that has 49 hotels, restaurants and leisure operations in 25 countries, in August 2007, after a handover period with his yet to be recruited successor.
He will also not seek re-election as a director at the company's annual meeting of shareholders, expected to be held in June 2007.
In a statement the company said he was leaving "to pursue other interests" and thanked him for his 13 years of service.
In December Simon's father and the company's founder and chairman James Sherwood announced he would be stepping down from his role in June, although he will continue at the company in a non-executive director role.
