Sanctum Soho hotel ‘nothing to do with Iron Maiden', says Mark Fuller

Mark Fuller, the nightclub owner and restaurateur, has denied weekend reports that heavy metal band Iron Maiden are involved in his latest hotel venture.

The £10m Sanctum Soho, which opens in March, is the second hotel from Concept Venues, Fuller's company set up with chef Garry Hollihead.

Concept Venues counts Iron Maiden co-manager Andy Taylor as an investor, which led TheSunday Times to report that the band were the driving force behind the hotel.

But Fuller told Caterersearch that, while the hotel would appeal to musicians, it was not a "rock & roll hotel".

"This is the culmination of two years hard work on our part and it has nothing to do with Iron Maiden," he said. "Andy Taylor is involved of course but The Sunday Times has got the wrong end of the stick."

The Sanctum Soho will feature 30 rooms, a 60-seat restaurant, an underground cinema and private rooftop garden.
