Rowton Hall appoints new manager following sale

John Griffiths has joined Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa as general manager following the hotel's sale to Anderbury hotel group in June.

Griffiths' experience includes operations manager positions at QHotels properties including Mottram Hall in Cheshire and the Cheltenham Chase hotel in Gloucestershire, as well as Wyck Hill House in Gloucestershire.

He said: "I'm really excited to be taking on the role of general manager at Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa and pleased to work with an enthusiastic and dynamic team. Having worked in a variety of successful hotels I am looking forward to continuing to build of the hotel's proven success."

The Wigginton family, who previously managed the hotel, sold the four-AA-star, 39-bedroom property in Cheshire off an asking price of £6.25m following their decision to retire. Anderbury also owns the St George hotel in Llandudno and Hatherley Manor hotel in Gloucestershire.

Tony Burns, director of Anderbury, said: "John is joining the team at a pivotal time in the hotel's journey, with the recent acquisition of the hotel just a few months ago we already have a number of developments planned that will help establish the property as one of the finest country house hotels in Cheshire."
