Ramsay to open restaurant in Tokyo

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is set to expand his overseas empire, opening a restaurant in the new 290-bedroom Conrad Tokyo hotel in Japan when it opens in spring next year.

Ramsay has already begun recruiting staff for the restaurant, known as Gordon Ramsay at The Conrad Tokyo.

Details about the new venture are sketchy, but it is known the 37-storey Conrad Tokyo will boast a number of restaurants, including a Japanese and Chinese restaurant.

A spokeswoman for Ramsay would only say: "All we can confirm is that Gordon will be opening a restaurant in Tokyo in the spring of next year. Hopefully we will have a statement to send out soon."

Ramsay already has a restaurant in Dubai and has reportedly eyed Las Vegas as a possible option.
