Prince Alwaleed bin Talal named man of the year at Saudi Achievement Awards

Saudi billionaire, property tycoon and Kingdom Holdings chairman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has been named man of the year at the Saudi Achievement Awards 2007.

The Prince's business empire includes stakes in numerous hotel groups including Fairmont Hotels, as well as other sectors such as Apple Computers and News Corporation.

Most recently, Alwaleed, joined Bill Gates and Isadore Sharp (chief executive of the Four Seasons hotel group) to buy the Four Seasons group for $3.37b (£1.71b).

The awards were organised by Arabian Business magazine.
