Preston hoteliers buy hotel in Garstang

Derek and Nicola Cheetham, the former owners of the Park hotel in Preston, have bought the Crofters hotel in nearby Garstang off a guide price of £1.75m.

The Lancashire hotel occupies a 1.2 acre site in a prime trading position fronting the A6.

It holds a Civil Marriage Licence and has built up a reputation for fine dining, banqueting and conferencing.

Along with 21 en-suite bedrooms, the hotel offers a 100-seat restaurant that doubles as a function room, two more function rooms to accommodate 270 and 80 people respectively, and a one-bedroom manager's apartment.

The site also contains a separate tavern that can seat around 150 people in addition to the public bar and cocktail bar within the hotel.

The Manchester office of Christie + Co sold the freehold on behalf of Mitchell's of Lancaster.
