Prested Hall seeks partner to expand the business

The owner of Prested Hall](http://www.prested.co.uk/), a 13-bedroom hotel which dates back to the 15th century in Feering, near Colchester, Essex, is looking for a partner to help expand the business.

Mark Carter said starting work will start soon on an extension which will add 30 new bedrooms, a restaurant and function rooms.

The business currently has a busy calendar of weddings and corporate functions, which results in the entire hotel be taken over by the client. By expanding the hotel, single use events will run in the manor house, alongside the new hotel operation in the new adjoining building.

"The cost of the project is around £2m and we are looking for an existing hotel operator or management company to join us in this venture by bringing money to the table," said Carter.

Set within an 80-acre parkland setting, Prested also incorporates a newly built health club with swimming pool, two real tennis courts and therapy rooms, Carter said the existing hotel is worth about £2m.
