Preferred Hotels announces two new UK members

Luxury sales and marketing consortium Preferred Hotels & Resorts has announced two new UK members: Edgbaston Park hotel and the Grand hotel in York.

The five-AA-starred, 207-bedroom Grand Hotel & Spa, York (pictured), is a member of Preferred's LVX Collection. The property, owned by Splendid Hospitality Group, is the only five-star hotel in York, and it added 100 new bedrooms as part of a £15m expansion and refurbishment in February.

The 185-bedroom, purpose-built Edgbaston Park Hotel & Conference Centre in Birmingham is due to open in August. It forms a key part of the University of Birmingham's £500m redevelopment and will be the first hotel to be operated by the university. The property is a member of the brand's Connect Collection and will go live on Preferred's channels in May.

Brenda Collin, managing director for UK, Ireland, the Nordics and the Netherlands, spearheaded the new partnerships for Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
