Police question Saudi prince over servant's death at Landmark hotel
Police have opened a murder inquiry after the servant of a Saudi prince was found beaten to death at London's five-star Landmark hotel.
Parts of the third floor were screened off last night as forensic officers photographed the crime scene.
Although police were awaiting the results of the post mortem examination yesterday before releasing further details, sources from Scotland Yard confirmed that the case was being treated as a murder inquiry.
"Unfortunately, the Landmark hotel can confirm the death of a guest on Monday who was staying at the hotel," the Landmark's general manager, Francis Green, said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
"Police were informed immediately and have launched an investigatin surrounding this incident and we are co-operating fully with them and are therefore unable to comment further.
"This is an isolated incident and our thoughts are with the relatives of the deceased."
