Planet Hollywood founder to bring Italian restaurant chain to the UK
Village Hotels has teamed up with Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl to bring his Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo to the UK.
The first outlet opened at the 157-bedroom Village Hotel in Newcastle this week, with three further restaurants opening at the brand's properties in Liverpool, Swindon and Blackpool by the end of March.
Offering a family-style service of shared Italian dishes, Buca di Beppo will eventually be present in all 26 properties operated by Village Hotels, the mid-market brand of De Vere Hotels and Resorts. A further five hotels will open within the next 18 months.
Buca di Beppo will be replacing the Verve Grill within Village Hotels and is the third food and beverage brand to operate in the properties alongside the Victory Pub & Kitchen and Starbucks.
Gary Davis, chief executive of Village Hotels, said that brand has been a fantastic success in the USA and would appeal to both hotel guests and local communities. "It is a new and exciting addition to the hotels - it will energise the business."
Village Hotels is operating the Buca di Bepo brand, which is present in 90 locations across the USA, through a licence agreement.
