Pinewood hotel in Cheshire exceeds sale price of £2.25m

The 58-bedroom Pinewood hotel in Wilmslow, Cheshire, has been sold for above the asking price of £2.25m by Menzies Hotels.

Enjoying a mix of commercial, conference and private banqueting business, the hotel has been sold to the Best Western hotel, Castle Green in Kendal, Cumbria.

The three-storey property, which includes a restaurant, bar and five meeting rooms, has been extended and modernised, and has extensive outbuildings which, in addition to providing storage and staff accommodation, could be used for development.

Jeremy Jones, director of Corporate Hotels at Christie & Co, which handled the sale, said: "We're delighted to have achieved such an excellent price on the freehold on the Pinewood Hotel on behalf of Menzies Hotels. We're certain the new owners will be delighted to have acquired such an attractive and commercially successful business."
