Park Plaza Victoria appoints Robert Flinter as general manager

Robert Flinter has been appointed as general manager of the four-AA-star, 299-bedroom Park Plaza Victoria London

He joins the hotel, which is part of the Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand owned and operated by PPHE Hotel Group, from the same role at the Apex City of London hotel.

Originally from Ireland where he studied at the Shannon College of Hotel Management, Flinter's 14 years in the hospitality industry have included stints at the Forte Hotel Group, Thistle, Jurys Doyle Hotels and InterContinental Hotels Group. He also won an Acorn Award in 2009.

He said that he is delighted to be joining the Park Plaza Victoria London prior to an extensive refurbishment programme, announced by the PPHE Hotel Group in December 2014.

"The hotel has a strong corporate base and fantastic meeting and event facilities coupled with a high-level of guest service and contemporary Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts style," he said.

"The Victoria area is going through an exciting regeneration and I am looking forward to joining the team and taking the hotel through its own renovation."

Greg Hegarty, regional general manager UK, PPHE Hotel Group, added: "Robert brings extensive knowledge of the London hospitality marketplace. With the hotel due to enter a major refurbishment stage, he is joining at a crucial time in leading the team and guests through a new chapter in its brand journey."

The Park Plaza Victoria London is home to the Tozi restaurant - serving sharing plates of Italian food - which opened to great acclaim last year.
