Paris set to overhaul London hotel industry's revpar leadership

Parisian hotels are catching up with London's in terms of revenue per available room (revpar), according to the latest figures from TRI Hospitality Consulting's HotStats European survey.

And figures for the month of May suggest Paris will overtake London in the remainder of the year, with revpar for the month more than €3 ahead of London's €159.83 (£110.91).

Germany's Hamburg achieved the fastest revpar growth rate out of the 10 European cities ranked in the report. For the first five months its revpar grew 17% year-on-year to €75.38 (£52.32).

The second biggest rise also went to a German city, with hotels in Berlin showing an increase of 14.5% to €86.96 (£60.36) during the period.
