Opportunity for hotel development in Daventry

Daventry District Council (DDC) is looking to speak to operators interested in a potential hotel development in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

Situated on the edge of Daventry town centre, the proposed hotel would form part of a development that could restaurants, a marina, office space, residential units and a college of further education.

The development is the latest phase of an extensive regeneration programme by DDC. Planning permission has already been approved for a 65,000 sq ft retail complex, five-screen cinema and new supermarket, while work has already been completed on the new University Technical College.

The council is looking to discuss the estimated size of a potential hotel, including number of bedrooms, with a potential operator.

Councillor Chris Over, who is responsible for economic, regeneration and employment on DDC, said that the site is "an important gateway to the heart of Daventry and an ideal location for a hotel development" to support the growth of business and leisure activity in the town centre.

"We would like to hear from hotel operators or any other organisations interested in shaping a future partnership that could move this scheme forward," he added.
