Olympic catering equipment up for sale

More than 600 lots of catering equipment used in London Olympic venues and now surplus to requirement is to go up for auction.

The Olympic athletes' village, main media centre and corporate hospitality centre required more than 7,500 pieces of catering equipment to over 150 different catering locations.

Now the company that supplied a lot of the equipment, the Hilditch Group, is looking to sell off stock it cannot use in its ongoing hire business.

The lots include kitchen ranges, refrigeration and stainless steel furtinure, and includes equipment that was bought brand new in 2012, as well as a number of ex-hire items.

Hilditch Group marketing manager Barney Greig said: "The sale represents an excellent chance to purchase quality equipment, much of which has only had several months' usage, at a fraction of the new price."

The sale will take place in Swindon, Wiltshire, on 31 January.
