Nick Hanson to leave Idle Rocks for GM role at Mallory Court

Nick Hanson has been appointed as general manager of the four-red-AA-star, 43-bedroom Mallory Court Country House Hotel & Spa in Warwickshire.

He will take up his new position on 7 January after leaving the same role at the Idle Rocks and St Mawes hotel in St Mawes, Cornwall, where he has been for just over two years.

Set within 10 acres of gardens near Leamington Spa, Mallory Court is one of nine hotels within the Eden Hotel Collection. It has recently been run by group director Greg Fehler as acting general manager since Sarah Baker stepped down earlier this year.

The hotel has been a member of Relais & Châteaux since 1983 and features the Dining Room, overseen by head chef Paul Evans, and the Elan Spa.

Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, said: "I am delighted Nick is joining our excellent team at Mallory Court. He has a proven track record and brings a wealth of experience in managing luxury hotels. I am looking forward to working with Nick, collectively taking the business forwards with a fresh new approach and initiatives."

A graduate of hotel and catering management from Oxford Brookes University, he was awarded the Master Innholder Scholarship to study at Cornell University in the US in 2002.

The 19-bedroom Idle Rocks hotel, owned by David and Karen Richards, is now seeking a replacement for Hanson.
