New role for ex- Millennium & Copthorne chief Tony Potter

Millennium & Copthorne's (M&C) outgoing chief executive Tony Potter is to take up a new position as head of Corinthia Hotels International (CHI).

Potter, who announced his resignation from M&C last week, will become the new chief executive of the hotel management arm of the Maltese-owned Corinthia Group.

CHI manages 20 four and five-star hotels in Europe and Africa and is about to begin a rapid expansion programme over the next few years.

Potter said: "I am excited by the prospect of joining Corinthia hotels international and building upon what is already an excellent reputation."

Corinthia Group chairman Alfred Pisani added: "We have ambitious plans for our hotel business, as investors and operators and we welcome Tony as a key contributor to this development and growth."
