New GM for Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
Gérard Sintès has been appointed general manager of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, replacing Tony McHale, who has been in the role since 2009.
McHale has moved to Dubai to take up the position as general manager at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.
Originally from France, he joins the five-red-AA-star, 198-bedroom hotel from the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, where he has been general manager for four years.
Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, Sintès held senior roles with One&Only, as general manager in Cape Town and at Le Saint Géran Hotel, Spa & Golf Club in Mauritius. He has also been general manager of the Shangri-La in Jakarta and managing director of the Shangri-La in Bangkok, a position he combined with the regional management of the Shangri-La group in Thailand and Myanmar.
The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park incorporates two restaurants: the two-Michelin-star Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Bar Boulud, London.
