Montcalm owner to launch new holistic hotel brand called Inhabit

The owner of the Montcalm group of hotels is to launch a new brand of properties featuring a fusion of British, Scandinavian and Eastern design.

Family-owned, real estate company Precis Group is behind the new brand called Inhabit Hotels, which will open in summer 2019 across six Georgian townhouses in Southwick Street, Paddington, London.

The interiors, designed by Holland and Harvey Architects and Caitlin Henderson Design, are expected to combine "Scandinavian design influences with traditional British heritage and touches of Eastern flair". Bedrooms will be minimal in style to help guests "declutter their minds".

Meanwhile, a holistic art programme by art and innovation consultants Culture A will provide a focus on wellness with healthy food choices, "a mind-improving library", and fitness and yoga classes.

As well as featuring an all-day café, guests will have 24-hour access to a pantry, stocked with "smart snacks".

The hotel will have a strong environmental ethos, highlighted by it being free of single-use plastics and partnerships with companies like Kalinko, a brand of ethically produced textiles and homewares from Burma.

Precis said that it hopes Inhabit will be the first of several hotels within the brand, but a second site is yet to be confirmed.

The Montcalm brand comprises eight hotels across London. Precis is also the owner of the Access self-storage company.
