Mercure Sheffield Parkway opens following rebranding

The 78-bedroom Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel has opened following an extensive refurbishment and rebranding.

Formerly the Aston hotel Sheffield, the property is owned by asset management company the Dominvs Group, which secured a franchise agreement with Accor earlier this year to operate the hotel under the Mercure brand.

The hotel has been redesigned by RSD Interiors. Changes include the transformation of the previously traditional lobby area into a multi-purpose space combining the front desk, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre.

The Foundry, a new restaurant and bar at the hotel, is offering a wide ranging menu including sandwiches, burgers and three-course meals.

Preet Ahluwalia of Dominvs Group, said: "We see the rebrand as a great opportunity to maximise the performance of our hotel in Sheffield as a Mercure hotel, due to the strength of the Accor distribution system and strong brand identity."

The hotel is the first Accor branded hotel in the Dominvs portfolio of five hotels.

There are now 75 Mercure hotels in the UK and around 760 worldwide.
