Marriott takes pride in new drag queen appointment
Marriott UK has appointed a drag queen concierge to help welcome guests at key hotels during Pride weekends, which celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Renowned drag queen Anna Phylactic is joining the hotel teams at Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow as well as the Renaissance hotel in Manchester during July and August. Her role is to help check-in guests, direct them to their room and give insider advice on the best places to enjoy Pride events in each city.
"By employing someone who is so central to the LGBT community, we are able to give customers the best advice on the popular bars, late night taxi services and most relaxing places to visit after partying has finished," said Marriott senior marketing manager Laura Philps.
