Mark Yates appointed GM of Park House hotel

The Park House hotel has appointed Mark Yates as its new general manager replacing Sarah Stacey.

The 21-bedroom luxury country house hotel and spa in Bepton, West Sussex has been owned by the O'Brien family for more than 60 years.

Most recently a general manager with the Harbour Hotels Group, Yates has also held general manager positions at the Careys Manor hotel in Brockenhurst, Hampshire; the Isle of Eriska hotel; the Atlantic hotel in Jersey; and for a time ran his own hotel management company, Edward-Brook.

Originally the family home of the O'Briens, who regularly hosted international polo players from the nearby Cowdray Park Polo Club, the property was transformed into a hotel by Seamus O'Brien.

A family spokesperson said: "With the wealth of luxury hospitality industry experience Mark has in the UK and US, we are delighted to welcome him to Park House."
