London hotels achieve record revpar figures for March

Six Nations rugby helped drive revenue per available room (revpar) in London hotels to a record level for March, according to the latest figures from data group STR.

Alongside the 3.8% increase in revpar to £112.68, average daily rate grew by 1.7% to £138.13 and occupancy climbed by 2.1% to 81.6%.

Meanwhile, demand for rooms, up by 4.6%, outpaced new supply, which increased by 2.5%.

STR analysts said the performance of London hotel benefited from the two Six Nations rugby matches on 9 and 16 March, as well as the three-day Passenger Terminal Expo.
