London has the most hotels in the pipeline across Europe

London is the city with the most hotel bedrooms in active development in Europe, according to the latest STR Global Construction Pipeline Report.

The capital currently has 5,794 rooms in the pipeline out of a total 100,013 rooms being developed across 587 hotels throughout Europe.

In second place is Moscow with 4,837 rooms in the pipeline, followed by Berlin with a total of 4,204 rooms.

The upscale segment of rooms account for the largest portion of the total active rooms in the pipeline (22.1%), while the luxury segment made up 9.2% and the economy segment made up 19.4% of the total.

According to STR figures, the existing number of hotel bedrooms in Europe is 3.3 million.
