London achieves highest revpar of European hotel rivals in January

London achieved the highest revenue per available room (revpar) of its European peers in January, according to Tri Hospitality Consulting's latest Europe HotStats survey.

Of the 10 European cities featured in the report, London was top with revpar of €116.46 (£80.20).

London was the only city to achieve occupancy above 70%, coming in at 70.8%.

Although second place Paris achieved higher room rates overall, weaker occupancy than in the British capital pushed revpar down to €113.54 (£78.21).

Jonathan Langston, managing director of TRI Hospitality Consulting, said:

"The sales performance of a hotel is a delicate balance between charging the highest rate possible while still filling your hotel.

On this basis, hoteliers in London appear to be making the best job of maximising sales revenue."

Munich was the only city in the survey to record a decrease in revpar with a fall of 2.7% to €56.04 (£38.60).
