Local buyer for Farnham hotel
Local resident Andrew Torjussen has bought the Bishops Table hotel and restaurant in the historic Surrey town of Farnham off a guide price of £1.65m.
The Winchester office of Christie + Co sold the hotel freehold on behalf of Kass Verjee, who has owned the hotel for more than 20 years.
The property, which dates back to the early 1700s, has served as a private dwelling, a training school for the clergy (as Bishops' Hostel), a guesthouse and, most recently, as a hotel.
There is also a private dining room that doubles as a conference room, a coffee lounge/orangery leading to a covered walkway and courtyard outside, and two staff bedrooms with an associated shower room.
