Kevin MacGillivray becomes the Barceló Troon Marine hotel's first new head chef in 42 years

The Barceló Troon Marine hotel has appointed Kevin MacGillivray as its head chef - its first new head chef in 42 years. MacGillivray is the current president of the Federation of Chefs Scotland. He was also Scottish Chef of the Year from 2000 to 2002 and previously captained the Scotland Culinary Team for 10 years.

He recently appeared as a presenter on the BBC Good Food Show Scotland, alongside Tana Ramsay, Martin Wishart and Tom Kitchin. He has more than 30 years' experience in the hospitality industry, having worked as an executive chef at both Lochgreen House hotel and Ballathie House hotel, where he maintained two AA Rosettes.
