Jurys Doyle denies reports Jurys Inn chain on the market for £400m plus

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group has denied newspaper claims that it plans to put its Jurys Inn chain of hotels up for sale in early 2007.

A report in the Irish edition of the Sunday Times claimed the company's owners the Doyle and Beatty families had put a value of more than €700m (£482m) on the budget chain of 14 hotels.

But a spokesperson for the company said that Jurys Doyle was not actively looking for buyers for the chain and did not know where the "rumours" had originated.

A long-running battle for control of the hotel group came to an end in January of this year when it delisited from the London and Irish Stock Exchanges, after a consortium led by the Doyle family made a successful £858m bid for the company.
