Imperial hotel in Blackpool to be sold to Singapore company for £12.8m
The four-AA-star, 180-bedroom Imperial hotel in Blackpool is to be acquired by Singapore-based property and investment company Fragrance Group for £12.8m.
The property is one of 10 regional properties within the Hotel Collection which Lone Star Funds announced it would be selling for a combined total of £130m, in March 2016.
Andrew Brownsword Hotels completed the first sale with the acquisition of the 152-bedroom Imperial hotel in Torquay in August. In November, Newcastle-based hotel and bar operator Cairn Group announced it was buying five of the hotels off a guide price of £75m.
Situated on Blackpool's North Promenade, the grand 19th-century Imperial hotel has played host to royalty, politicians, statesmen and stars of stage and screen over the years.
There are now just three properties in the Hotel Collection portfolio yet to be sold: Shrigley Hall golf and country club in Macclesfield, Cheshire; Billesley Manor in Stratford-upon-Avon; and Aberdeen Altens, Aberdeen.
